A "Killer" Camera Queens Christmas
Share
This year I have been part of the Perth based women’s photography community known as “Camera Queens” headed up by photographer Belle Verdiglione.
Though it has been a few years since I was more focused on my photography work, this community welcomed me with open arms & has been such a blessing after my relocation back to Australia (from Singapore), helping me integrate into the Perth creative & small business community. I even picked up my camera again to enter a self-portrait image to the “I Am” Camera Queens photography exhibition that was opened back in May.
I wanted to give back to this amazing group of women as a thank you for their support & did this through the donation of an original art piece for their Christmas party door prize. Naturally it seemed only fitting for a group of women of this calibre that the artwork needed a theme around being a “Queen” & thus my “A Killer Queen” pieces were born.
By my total shock & surprise I was also given an award in recognition of my work on social media. With our relocation having put my studio work on hold for quite a few months I put significant effort into teaching myself videography, editing & content creation so to receive an award acknowledging this effort was amazing.
Much gratitude to Belle & all the amazing women in the Camera Queens.
