This piece joins my 'Confetti Bombshells' collection.

The colour inspiration for this particular piece came to me after an afternoon spent at my hairdresser's salon where the decor is this beautiful combination of soft pinks, olive greens & golds. My hairdresser & I have a shared love of the colour green, so we always have enthusiastic discussions about decorating our homes with it & I always leave my time with him feeling so warmed inside & beautiful outside.

As I painted the work it started to remind me of Arnotts 100's & 1000s biscuits, with their pink icing. I have a fond memory of being a little girl licking the tops off the biscuits until the sprinkles were all faded, the biscuit was all soggy & my fingers were all sticky.

'Touch of Paradise' by John Farnham also shuffled through my play list while I created & this song evokes strong memories of being 5 years old, sitting between my brother & sister in the back of the family car, travelling to Kalbarri. I remember watching out the window as the sun rose & painted the sky pink - it is one of the only memories I have of my family being intact & to my innocent little 5 year old mind... being happy together.

The combination of these memories & moments make my heart feel so full & in my mind, that is what Paradise should be, feeling loved, happy & awed.

Whilst at a first glance the concept of these pieces is quite basic, the composition & the laydown of 100s of layers (by hand) is very measured to create depth, movement & points of interest. Each piece is bursting with colour & if you feel a little intimidated by that, I assure you, the exciting thing about this work is that the abundance of colour actually makes these pieces so much more versatile. They will compliment almost any room, while the overall canvas blends into a kind of relaxing, visual, white noise.

As I often like to do, I have added a final embellishment layer. This brings versatility to the work in, not only taking it from day to night but, making the artwork appear to twinkle like a starry sky as you move around it.

Without a doubt this has been a really beautiful, healing piece to create & I hope it brings all the positive energy, joy, love & healing, of Paradise, in to your space.
